Kelly Roberge: saxophone
Kelly
Roberge attended the Oberlin Conservatory of Music
where he studied saxophone with Paul Cohen and Donald
Walden and received a bachelor’s of music. Roberge
moved to Portland, Ore. to perform with the Ezra
Weiss Sextet and study with saxophonist Rob Scheps.
After
one year in Portland, Roberge moved to Boston to
attend the New England Conservatory where he studied
with Steve Lacy, Jerry Bergonzi, Bob Brookmeyer,
Ben Monder and George Garzone. After receiving his
masters degree from NEC, Roberge continues to live
in Boston where he performs with many unique ensembles
including The Ezra Weiss Sextet (jazz), the Tami
Machnai Ensemble (world music), and the Ayn Inserto
Big Band (contemporary jazz orchestra). Roberge
has performed throughout the United States, Canada
and Japan.
Some
notables that Roberge has recorded/performed with
include Vincent Herring, Antonio Hart, Michael Mossman,
Billy Hart, Mark Gross, Bob Brookmeyer, George Garzone,
Curtis Lundy, and the band “Boston."
